Enjoy an outdoor holiday with the benefit of a bit of luxury. CRUCKBARN is a self-catering cottage but as it lies so near Ludlow, you'll find you have no shortage of local pubs, restaurants and other places to eat out. There's a great village pub in Wigmore and for lots more ideas of places to eat and things to do, have a browse through the recommendations of our past guests.

CRUCKBARN has a mezzanine master bedroom with a king-size bed, covered with luxurious linen sheets. A further bedroom with a double bed, and additional single day bed, makes CRUCKBARN perfect for families of up to 5, couples or small groups of friends.
Whether you are after family fun, a romantic getaway, a quiet rural retreat or just somewhere special, CRUCKBARN makes for a holiday to remember.
Fresh coffee and bread make for a luxury start to the day in the holiday cottage
Young and energetic when we started, we have constructed almost every part of CRUCKBARN ourselves, often choosing manual work over machinery. The oak for the frame came from the local woodland, 100 trees that were growing within just 100 yards of our site – each over 100 years old.
We have tried to create a quality, eco-friendly holiday home. We have used as many local materials as possible, including timber cladding, stone, and reclaimed slates. In keeping with the traditional style of CRUCKBARN, we chose to use breathable lime in the concrete, mortars and plasters, which has the added benefit of using less energy to produce than its modern equivalents.

And when it came to turning it into a luxury holiday home, we again chose to make as many of the fixtures and fittings ourselves as we could: the doors, stairs, kitchen, furniture, and so on.
Renewable energy heats the building. Under-floor heating and hot water are supplied by a ground source heat-pump, while a beautiful Clearview wood-burner can be fed by a plentiful supply of logs, cut from the surrounding woodland.
A bespoke walk-in shower, surrounded by timber beams, is available on the ground floor of the accommodation
To make your holiday as relaxed as possible, all of your basic needs are provided for. CRUCKBARN includes a walk-in shower, a bath, a washer-dryer, an electric oven and 4-ring electric hob, a kettle, toaster, larder fridge with freezer compartment and all the essential kitchen utensils.
WiFi is available (but can be removed on request). Mobile signal is strong for EE, for both calls and data, but can be of mixed strength for other network providers. A Bluetooth music system is provided, as well as a vinyl record player.
An old-fashioned vinyl record player adds a personal touch to the barn
If you are coming with young children, we can also provide a cot, high chair and all-terrain pram to make walking in the woods easier.
We will always be keen to make your holiday as pleasant and relaxing as we can, so if you have any other needs or requests, don't hesitate to ask.
